What is the MELT Method?

The MELT Method is a simple self-treatment method that:

  • eliminates chronic pain
  • reduces signs of aging
  • improves performance
  • decreases the “stuck stress” caused by the repetitive postures and movements of everyday living.

MELT creates results you will see and feel in the first session. Over time MELT heightens your body’s ability to repair and heal itself, which can create remarkable, lasting changes.

Just 10 minutes a day is all you need to reduce the effects of accumulated tension and stress. This revolutionary approach is backed by the latest in scientific research.

The MELT Method is the very first Hands-off Bodywork® method developed for the general public as a self-care tool to prevent and relieve chronic pain. It’s an essential addition to any wellness or fitness routine.

Why MELT Works

The body has a unique tensegrity (tensional integrity) architecture—a stable, three-dimensional structure of elastic fibres under tension and compression in such a way as to create balance.  When fluid becomes “stuck” these fibres turn into a mucous-like sinew.  Soft stimulation (not hard and painful stimulation which can be damaging) brings them back to life and flow.

What makes MELT unique is its specific choreography—techniques that hit junction points where the trapped fluids may be more densely packed and therefore opportune for the right attention. Lymphatic massage is employed to release these liquids to flow freely throughout the entire structure of your body again.

New research has revealed the missing link to pain-free living: a balanced nervous system and healthy connective tissue. These two components work together to provide your body architectural support and optimal mind-body communication. Using specialized techniques, a soft body roller, and four different small balls, MELT re-hydrates the connective tissue, re-balances the nervous system, and restores space to compressed joints.

Sue Hitzmann, NYC manual therapist who founded the MELT Method that is now being taught worldwide by hundreds of instructors, has specific language for these techniques; terms like “glide,” “shear,” and “rinse.”  She has dedicated herself to this research and maintains the newest ideas and program discoveries.  You can listen to Sue at MELT On Demand by visiting www.meltmethod.com/melt-on-demand/.

This system will someday soon be an essential addition to any wellness or fitness routine. For more about MELT, go to www.meltmethod.com.
